Cañon City, CO (December 2, 2019) – The woman killed in a house fire on Weaver Lane in Canon City has been identified by police.
On Sunday morning, authorities responded to the scene of a house fire located at an apartment building on Weaver Lane. According to reports, at around 10:30 a.m., reports came in regarding smoke at a residence on the road.
Crews responded and took control of the fire. As crews battled the blaze, they discovered a victim inside one of the apartments.
The victim was later identified as 71-year-old Ingrid Heibel. Ms. Heibel incurred fatal injuries and was declared deceased.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
