Commerce City, CO (December 23, 2019) – A collision on US Highway 85 claimed one person’s life on Saturday.
Just after 5 a.m., on December 21, the Commerce City Police Department responded to the scene of a major motor vehicle accident in the 11700 block of Highway 85.
Reports from CCPD indicate that a black 2013 Audi S4 was traveling north along the highway in the southbound lane when it collided with a gray 200 Honda Civic.
The driver of the Honda incurred fatal injuries in the collision and was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.
The 23-year-old driver of the Audi, who was identified as Sebastian Lotero, was seriously injured and transported to an area hospital. Upon release, Lotera was arrested and charged with vehicular homicide and driving under the influence.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
