Peetz, CO (January 13, 2020) – A motor vehicle accident in Peetz claimed one man’s life.
Just after 5 p.m., on January 11, authorities were called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident in Peetz. Reports indicate that a semi-truck driver was traveling through a rail crossing on Burlington Northern Santa Fe tracks in Logan County, near the border of Nebraska, when the vehicle was struck by a train.
The impact of the collision caused the semi-truck to catch on fire. The driver of the vehicle was fatally injured and declared deceased at the scene by the Colorado State Patrol.
At this time, police are investigating.
